01 / THE WORKSHOP

Beyond capability.
Toward reliability.

Finance is a demanding testbed for AI. Markets shift, evidence is noisy, and decisions have real consequences.

FinFM brings together machine learning researchers, finance academics, and industry practitioners to examine what foundation models and generative AI can deliver in financial settings—and how to evaluate them rigorously.

Our scope spans financial language models, time-series and order-book models, multimodal systems, and AI agents. We connect advances in model design with reproducible evidence and the challenges of real-world deployment.

Evidence before claims

Leakage-free benchmarks and reproducible, cost-aware evaluation.

Research meets practice

Open discussion across academia, industry, and financial institutions.

Resources for the community

A planned evaluation checklist and curated benchmark resources.

02 / RESEARCH DIRECTIONS

The questions
worth asking.

We welcome work across the design, evaluation, and deployment of financial AI, including the following topics.

02

Agents &
reasoning

From information to grounded decisions.

  • LLM agents for research, trading, compliance, and advice
  • Retrieval- and tool-augmented reasoning
  • Generative scenarios and stress testing
  • Deployment in regulated institutions
03

Evaluation &
trustworthiness

Making progress measurable and reliable.

  • Leakage-free benchmarks and cost-aware evaluation
  • Guardrails, hallucination control, and safety
  • Uncertainty quantification and calibration
  • Interpretability for model risk management

03 / CALL FOR PAPERS

Bring your research.
Move the field forward.

We welcome methodological advances, careful empirical studies, useful datasets, and lessons from deployment.

RESEARCH TRACK

Full papers

Up to 7 pages, plus references, in AAAI format. Submissions should advance the design, understanding, evaluation, or application of foundation models and generative AI in finance.

BENCHMARKS & DATASETS TRACK

Better evidence. Shared resources.

A dedicated track for benchmarks, datasets, and evaluation resources that help the community assess financial AI more rigorously. Detailed track instructions will follow.

Submission portal coming soon

The OpenReview link will appear here when submissions open.

Review process

Submissions are planned to undergo double-blind review on OpenReview, with at least two reviews and an organizer meta-review per paper. Please prepare an anonymized manuscript.

Presentations & proceedings

All accepted papers are planned to be presented as posters, with selected oral presentations and a benchmark spotlight. The workshop is non-archival by default; an opt-in online proceedings volume is planned. Final arrangements will be announced.

Paper & benchmark awards

A Best Paper Award and a Best Benchmark Award are planned to recognize outstanding research and open resources. Award details will be announced.

04 / THE CONVERSATION

A program built
for exchange.

Program in development

A full-day format is proposed. The final date, session times, and speaker lineup will be announced here.
